The <\/strong>2024 IEEE Symposium on <\/strong>Services and Software Engineering Education (SSEedu)<\/strong><\/h3>

Services and Software Engineering in the Digital Era<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>

Introduction<\/strong><\/p>

The services computing industry is playing a significant role in transforming the modern digital economy towards a service-oriented society. An emerging transdisciplinary theme has evolved quickly interrelating computer science and software engineering, management science and engineering, social science, serviceology, and service science and engineering. At the core of this new transdisciplinary theme is software engineering, service engineering, and their interplay. In response, Services and Software Engineering Education<\/em> (SSEedu<\/em>) is emerging as an advancement to software engineering education, and is gaining a considerable momentum in terms of the ongoing accreditation activities in academia and industry. Advancements in information technology and AI-infused tools, especially GenAI, are expected to shape SSEedu further in its approaches, deliverables, and practices.<\/p>

This inaugural SSEedu Symposium, organized alongside the IEEE Congress on Services SSE Conference will focus on services and software engineering education in the digital era, addressing related topics and establishing a platform for educators, researchers, higher-education administrators, and industry\/government stakeholders to exchange ideas, knowledge, proposals, research findings, teaching practices, and share experiences of collaboration in SSEedu formal and professional (continuing) education, such as a body of knowledge, model curriculum, exemplary professional course modules, among others.<\/p>

The SSEedu Symposium will be held for two days with invited talks, panels, and paper presentations. Invited speakers will include accomplished educators, prominent industry leaders, government officials, and seasoned professional trainers. Accepted invited papers will be published in Proceedings of the 2024 IEEE World Congress on Services. Uninvited SSEedu research papers are welcome to be submitted to the 2024 IEEE SSE.<\/p>
