With the rapid development of new generation of information technology, especially of the generative artificial intelligence, in recent years, there are a lot of new challenges for software service engineering education. In order to explore the good models, methods and solutions for service science and software service engineering education in the new situation worldwide, we propose the International Symposium on Services and Software Engineering (SSEedu) in the IEEE World Congress on Services.
In 2024, the first IEEE Symposium on Services and Software Engineering Education (2024 IEEE SSEedu) was successfully held in Shenzhen, China, with the theme on services and software engineering in the digital era. In 2025, the second IEEE SSEedu symposium (2025 IEEE SSEedu), was successfully held in Helsinki, Finland, with the theme on AI empowered education for services and software engineering education in the intelligent era.
This year, the third IEEE SSEedu symposium (2026 IEEE SSEedu), organized alongside the IEEE Congress on Services SSE Conference, on the core theme of “Facing Change, Software Engineering Education in the Era of AI-Driven Software Development.” will be held for two days in July in Sydney, Australia, with invited speeches, panels, and paper presentations. SSEedu will accept high quality papers aligned with the topics below, ensuring a balance of views from various geographical regions and also from academia and industry. The accepted papers will be published in Proceedings of the 2026 IEEE World Congress on Services. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
